Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said: “We fear pre-election violence will be caused by BNP and other opposition groups.” He made this remark during a press conference which was held in the Awami League president’s political office, in Dhanmondi, on Friday. “The killing of the BNP leader is a result of their internal conflict,” he added. He also said: “EVMs will be used in some parts of the country on a very small scale. Our party supports this decision taken by the Election Commission.”
